ONEWORLD retreats at Kumara


The fourteen bedroom holistic retreat is located 1.5 km from the heart of Ubud in Bali. Bordered by a small creek to the west, the eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The retreat centre offers two swimming pools, dining room, spa and 125 square meter yoga studio open to nature.

Each room is air-conditioned, has its own terrace, mini-bar and bathroom. Comfortable yet unpretentious. For our guests' ultimate serenity, we welcome guests of a minimum age of 14 years.

What is Forrest Yoga?

Forrest Yoga is renowned as an intensely physical and internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat into daily life. The practice challenges to access the whole being and to use Forrest Yoga as a path to find and then cleanse the emotional and mental blocks that dictate and limit our lives.

Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. The practice is founded on four pillars - Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. It teaches you to go deeper to find your truth and encourages you to take it beyond the mat and into the rest of your life, honouring and celebrating the beauty of life and the power of Spirit. It is an inspiring yoga practice that builds flexibility, intelligence and strength while helping deepen the relationship with your authentic self. Accessing your intuition builds personal strength and ushers integrity into your daily interactions, challenges you to heal, grow and welcome your Spirit home.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga. However, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues (which we are calling the yang tissues). Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.

A Yin Yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body; the hips, pelvis, inner thighs and lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer. Each pose, with its long, quiet connection to mind and body is very much a meditative experience - quietly following the breath you deeply stimulate the meridians while garnering the benefits of meditation.


All your meals are included and most are served at the resort.

Our chefs are experienced and eager to offer you the freshest, most tasteful and healthy meals. From our "table d'hôte" you may choose to eat vegetarian or non vegetarian meals. Just like at a friend's place, there are no menus, yet we make sure to know what you like and dislike!

Meals are served either in the jungle dining room or in the privacy of your own balcony table.

Spa treatments

Included are two blissful spa treatments, Mandi Lulur and a Hair Cream Bath or Facial treatment. Other treatments are available onsite, you may wish to view our spa menu.

After dinner, we will take you to a Balinese temple with sacred spring pools for a purification ritual. A local mangku (priest) will carry out the prayers. An exceptional way to begin the holistic retreat. Day of Silence begins.

Day 3

Experiencing a day in silence
Today is a day for contemplation and to concentrate on your inner self. Silence helps one to reach a different level of consciousness and a better understanding of the self. The results are usually very enlightening and can be amazing.

Spa treatment of the day
Mandi Lulur/Floral Bath - 110 minutes
17th century Javanese royal treatment. A relaxing massage, followed by spice scrub (turmeric, sandal wood and rice powder) exfoliation with yogurt for moisturizer and a fragrant blossom bath. A true royal treatment!

Lunch - Today, enjoy the privacy of your own table and in silence!

Spa Treatments of the day
You can choose between:

  • Hair Cream Bath - 1 hour
    A vital treat for your hair and scalp that also lifts the spirit!
    Your scalp is massaged with a rich avocado cream to stimulate circulation and release tension. Steaming follows to hydrate and preserve suppleness. Your therapist slowly massages your shoulders and upper arms before finally applying natural hair tonic, washing and towel drying. This treatment will leave your hair radiant.

  • OR

  • Herbal Facial or Thermal Clay Facial - 1 hour
    This age-old treatment softens, moisturizes and firms the skin, promoting new cell growth. First a refreshing cleanser is applied, followed by a peeling and exfoliation treatment. Next, a face, neck and shoulder massage with a steam treatment followed by manual extraction. After the application of a facemask you can relax deeply for 15 minutes while it does its wonderful work! The treatment concludes with an application of a refreshing iced towel and moisturizing cream.
