This journey to the lush hills surrounding Munduk includes two nights of accommodation, an excursion to a waterfall, walk through rice fields and plantations as well as many stops on the way such as Bedugul’s lake temple.
Munduk is located in the northern part of the island at app. 900 meters above sea level. The temperature is nice and fresh averaging 20°C at night and 25°C during the day. The small village has a population of about 6,000 people, most of them farmers.
History books reveal that Munduk has been inhabited for over 200 years and that at the beginning of the 20th century the Dutch reached the area. Loving the fresh air, they used Munduk as a mountain retreat and the first guest house opened in 1908. The colonial architecture of Munduk is still visible. It was during this period that plantations were established and started to export to Europe.

On the way to Munduk, visit Mengwi’s famous water temple, Taman Ayun. It was built by the King of Mengwi in the 18th century and is surrounded by a lotus garden. The stone carvings are quite exceptional. Taman Ayun is known to be one of the fanciest temples in Bali.

Lunch with a view (inclusive)
Following lunch, you will take the direction of Bedugul, a small village located in the central mountains of Bali. There you will visit the flower and vegetable market as well as the famous Lake Bratan with is lake temple Pura Ulun Danu.
On the way from the lake to Munduk, there are many opportunities to take some spectacular photos; from the top of the hills, you will see Tamblingan and Bratan lakes, main source of water for Denpasar, Bali’s capital.
As your last stop before reaching Munduk you will stretch your legs and do a jungle walk to a limpid waterfall.
Arrival in Munduk during the afternoon. Explore the resort and relax for the rest of the day. From the hotel’s sunset bar, you can enjoy spectacular sunset views.

This morning, you will walk through the ricefields of Munduk and visit some of Bali’s most impressive clove, cacao and coffee plantations. Our local guide is happy to answer all your questions.
